Deploy degli aggiornamenti di Office 2019 tramite WSUS
Nell’articolo Novità di Office 2019 per IT Pro avevo analizzato come gestire gli aggiornamenti di Office 2019 riportando che non era possibile utilizzare Windows Server Updates Services (WSUS). Tale indicazione è tuttora riportata in Update Office 2019 (for IT Pros):
“Since updates are cumulative and already included in the latest version of Office 2019 on the Office CDN, you don’t use Microsoft Updates or Windows Server Updates Services (WSUS) to update Office 2019. But you can use System Center Configuration Manager to help you deploy and manage updates to Office 2019, including controlling when and from where updates are applied.”
In realtà però in WSUS è disponibile tra i prodotti aggiornabili tramite WSUS:
Inoltre nei post Current Cumulative Updates for Office – Q1 2019 e Current Cumulative Updates for Office – Q4 2018, in cui è citato anche Office 2019, viene riportato quanto segue:
“For the MSI version of Office, non-security updates are released in Microsoft Update and the Windows Server Update Service (WSUS) on the first Tuesday of the month. This will include all updates that have the Critical or Definition classification. Updates with the Security classification will continue to release on the second Tuesday as usual.
For the Click-To-Run (C2R) version of Office, all updates will release on the second Tuesday of the month.”
Nonostante il fatto che Office 2019 sia presente in WSUS come prodotto va però precisato che non è possibile aggiornalo tramite WSUS, ma l’inserimento degli aggiornamenti in WSUS dipende sono dal fatto che questo stato reso necessario per consentire l’aggiornamento tramite System Center Configuration Manager che si appoggia WSUS (a riguardo si veda la discussione nel thread Office 2019 Updates via WSUS).
