Attivazione in Windows 8 e Windows Server 2012

What you can expect from Windows 8 RTM alcune informazioni sul funzionamento dell’attivazione del sistema:

  • Upon installation, Windows will prompt you to activate. A product key is not required for this software
  • You must complete activation before August 15, 2013 to use this evaluation
  • Once you activate, you have up to 90 days to use the software. You can track the amount of time you have left by referring to the “watermark” in the lower right corner of the Windows desktop
  • If you fail to activate this evaluation after installation, or if your evaluation period expires, the desktop background will turn black, you will see a persistent desktop notification indicating that the system is not genuine, and the PC will shut down every hour
  • Following the evaluation period, you will need to replace the operating system on your test computer and reinstall all your programs and data. It is not possible to upgrade the evaluation to a licensed working version of Windows 8 Enterprise. A clean installation is required

  • Q: Can I use Microsoft deployment technologies to deploy the Windows 8 Enterprise 90-day evaluation to multiple computers?
A: Yes, the Windows 8 Enterprise 90-day evaluation is a fully functional copy of Windows 8 Enterprise until it expires 90 days after the installation on the reference computer (the computer from which you build a system image). You can deploy the Windows 8 Enterprise 90-day evaluation using a variety of deployment technologies, including the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit. You can also install it by simply running the downloaded installation application.
  • Q: Do I need a product key?
A: No, Windows 8 Enterprise 90-day evaluation has a product key built in, so there is no need to enter one.

  • Tramite Multiple Activation Keys (MAKs)
  • Tramite Windows Key Management Service (KMS)
  • Active Directory-Based Activation

The Eval copies of Windows 8 Enterprise only have one Rearm.
the Volume License channel copies of Windows 8 Enterprise have a rearm count of 999

  • For all editions, you have 10 days to complete online activation, at which point the evaluation period begins and runs for 180 days. During the evaluation period, a notification on the Desktop displays the days remaining the evaluation period. You can also run slmgr.vbs /dlv from an elevated command prompt to see the time remaining.
  • All evaluation versions are fully functional during the evaluation period, although booting to Safe mode is not available.
  • The Windows Server 2012 Standard and Windows Server 2012 Datacenter editions come with the activation key pre-installed.
  • After the 180-day evaluation period elapses, the server warns you in various ways depending on the edition:
    • Windows Server 2012 Standard; Windows Server 2012 Datacenter:
      • The following warning appears on the Desktop: Windows License is expired
When you log on to Windows, you are prompted with the following options:

        • Activate now
        • Ask me later
      • The system shuts down every hour.
      • The only updates that can be installed are security updates.
      • Event ID 100 from source WLMS “The license period for this installation of Windows has expired. The operating system will shut down every hour.” appears in the Application log.
  • If the server is running an evaluation version of Windows Server 2012 Standard or Windows Server 2012 Datacenter, you can convert it to a retail version (per i dettagli si veda il link).
