“If you are one of the unlucky owners of one of the first 2-in-1 PCs, announced in 2012 and sold throughout 2013 and 2014, your PC was eligible for the free Windows 10 upgrade in mid-2015, and it also received the Summer 2016 Anniversary Update (version 1607) without any compatibility issues.

  • But when Windows Update tries to install the March 2017 Creators Update, version 1703, the installation fails with a dire (and confusing) message that reads:
  • Windows 10 is no longer supported on this PC

Uninstall this app now because it isn’t compatible with Windows 10.

Don’t be fooled by that message. There’s no app to uninstall. This problem occurs because of a fundamental incompatibility between the PC hardware and the latest release of Windows 10.”

  • Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB
  • Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2016 LTSB

Tale considerazione viene infatti anche espressa nell’articolo Microsoft agrees to extend support deadline for Clover Trail PCs pubblicato sempre sul sito ZDNet:

“The impact of the change on Microsoft’s engineering processes is mitigated to a degree by the fact that Microsoft released the Anniversary Update as a Long Term Servicing Branch (LTSB) release in 2016. In effect, owners of Clover Trail devices will be treated as if they had installed the LTSB release.”

HP PCs manufactured before August of 2013 might not have a complete set of hardware and/or drivers required to use all of the features in Windows 10.

  • HP is not testing or developing Windows 10 drivers for these PC products.
  • If you choose to use Windows 10 some features, applications, and connected devices might not work as expected.
  • If you still wish to proceed with using Windows 10 on an untested system, please visit the Windows support site for information and support.
  • Already running Windows 10 on an untested device? To find available drivers for these products, see Where Do I Find Windows 10 Drivers and Software for My Model?
